Jaya’s ‘Nakshi Kathar Jamin’ nominated for IFFI award

Entertainment Live: Popular actress Jaya Ahasan’s ‘Nakshi Kathar Jamin’ has been nominated to compete in the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Jaya Ahasan shared the information in a Facebook post on Thursday. The 53rd edition of the IFFI will be held in Goa of India from November 20 to 28 this year.

In her post, she wrote, “I am very admired and happy to be nominated in the film festival for the movie which is granted by Bangladesh government and directed by Akram Khan.”

The film will be premiered in the biggest film festival in Goa on November 25.

This is the first Bangladeshi film that will compete in the festival.

Expressing excitement Jaya said, “For the first time, the film has been selected from Bangladesh after inaugurating the award in 1994.

I am very happy because ‘Nakshi Kathar Jamin’ has been made based on a novel of Hasan Azizul Huq.

The central character of the film is a woman. The film has also been made based on the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971."
