DU female student killed in city road crash

DU Live: A female student of Dhaka University (DU) was killed after being hit by a speedy covered van at Natun Bazar area in Bhatara of the capital on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Radia Niti, 22, was a third year student at Institute of Fine Arts of the university, daughter of Rejaul Karim Farazi, hailing from Baheratala village in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur.

She used to live with his family at a rented house on Natun Bazar Principal Road in the capital. Sadia Reza Tanni, younger sister of the deceased, said that the covered van hit Radia while she was crossing the road in front of the American Garage in Natun Bazar, leaving her seriously injured.

Later, locals took her to Kurmitola General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries at 8:30 pm. Confirming the news, Md Mukteruzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhatara Police Station, said that police seized the killer van and nabbed its driver immediately after the acciden.
