JU Live: The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has decided to close in-person classes considering the Covid-19 situation across the country. The decision was taken at an administrative meeting of the university.

JU acting registrar Rahima Kaneez confirmed the matter to media today. In-person classes will be closed until further notice considering the corona situation across the country, she said.

However, the ongoing test and practical classes will continue in accordance with the hygiene rules. If necessary, the examination halls and the number of groups for practical examinations will be increased, she added.

Earlier on October 11 last year, JU authorities reopened residential halls and launched Covid-19 vaccination drive on campus for teachers, students and staff. Academic activities resumed from October 21, 2021.
