Indian cultural team visits RU

RU Live: An Indian cultural delegation today visited Rajshahi University (RU) campus as part of their attending the 'The Fifth Bangladesh-India Cultural Meet-2022, Rajshahi' here.

RU Vice Chancellor Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar accompanied by Pro-vice-chancellors Professor Chowdhury Jakaria and Professor Sultan-Ul-Islam welcomed the delegation on the campus.

Friends of Bangladesh and Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) are jointly hosting the four-day event to mark the Golden Jubilee of Independence, Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of India-Bangladesh Relations.

Around 40 political, cultural and media personalities from India are joining the function being celebrated at different locations and historical and archeological sites in Rajshahi and Natore districts.

The delegation led by Home Minister of Tripura Provincial Government Ram Prosad Paul placed wreaths at RU Shaheed Minar and a mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman paying rich tributes to him.

They also held a brief discussion meeting at Senate Bhaban stressing the need for bolstering cultural bond between Bangladesh and India, saying enhanced cultural relations will play a vital role in political, economical and social lives of the two neighbouring countries.
