Hasan urges students to follow indigenous values

Live Correspondent: Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud called upon the students to follow the indigenous values instead of engaging in blind imitation of western culture.

He was addressing as the chief guest a pre-iftar discussion of Chattogram Students Welfare Association of Jagannath University, Dhaka in Chattogram Bhaban auditorium here.

Awami League Deputy Publicity and Publications Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, Chattogram South District AL Joint General Secretary Shahjada Mohiuddin, Chattogram Samity, Dhaka former General Secretaries Nasir Uddin and Gias Uddin Khan, Jagannath University History Department Associate Professor Shahid Kader Chowdhury and Awami League Publicity and Publications Affairs Sub-Committee Member Rashedul Mahmud Russel addressed it, among others.

Host organization's President Ferdous Alam chaired it. Mentioning that every human being has a dream, Dr Hasan urged the youth to make their best efforts to translate their dreams into reality. If a person can make coordination of his or her dreams and efforts, he or she can succeed in life, he said.

Calling upon the students to become empathetic to fellow students, the minister said: "If any of your friends falls behind, you should extend cooperation to your friend in going ahead." Noting that student life is the most important time in human's life, he said those who can make the best use of time, they become successful in life.
