Daylong workshop on 'research method' held at Nazrul University

JKKNIU Live: A daylong workshop titled 'Research Methodology' was held in the university's conference room for the teachers of the Faculty of Business Studies at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University.  Professor Dr Abu Taher, a member of the University Grants Commission, inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest on Sunday.

 The opening ceremony was presided over by the honourable Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr  Soumitra Shekhar.

Registrar and agriculturist Md Humayun Kabir delivered the welcome speech while Additional Director of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell Professor Dr Md  Sahabuddin conducted the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr  Soumitra Shekhar said “Competition exists in all areas of life.  Life develops and improves by doing well in competition.  So, we can win the competition only if we can develop competence and skills.  The whole world is now running on efficiency.”

“To participate in the fourth industrial revolution under the leadership of the honourable Prime Minister, we need to develop skilled manpower.  There is no alternative to research.  We need to focus on producing world-class researchers,” he added.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed his thanks and gratitude to Professor Dr Abu Taher, a member of the University Grants Commission, for attending the workshop in response to Nazrul University's invitation to train teachers.

 In the speech of the chief guest, Professor Dr Abu Taher said, “We have to somehow improve the research culture among our teachers.  There is no alternative to research-based education to prepare for the fourth-generation industrial revolution.  Everyone including teachers and students should be prepared for this industrial revolution.”

He said there will be no hesitation in giving allocation from the University Grants Commission for the research of the teachers. Students and faculty members, among others,  participated in the workshop.
