Bone marrow transplantation to begin at BSMMU Specialized Hospital

BSMMU Live: BSMMU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed said bone marrow transplantation will begin at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Super Specialized Hospital.
He said this while speaking at a seminar organized by the Heamatology Department of BSMMU on Tuesday on the occasion of World MDS Day.
Chairman of the department Prof Dr Salahuddin shah presided in the seminar while Dr Nazia Sharmin and Dr Kazi Fazlur Rahman Sazid presented the scientific paper.
Prof Dr Masuda Begum, Dr MA Aziz and Professor Dr Rafikuzzaman Khan were present, among others.
The programme was conducted by Dr Fatema Tuz Zohra. The BSMMU VC said MDS Clinic has been started in Heamatology Department for diagnosis and treatment of MDS patients.
He expressed hope that all necessary testing facilities for myelodysplastic syndrome will be available and world-class treatment of this disease will be ensured in the country.
