Varsity student killed as covered van crash his motorcycle in Pabna

 

Live Correspondent: A private university student was killed and another school student sustained injuries after being hit by a covered van on the Pabna-Rajshahi highway at Tebunia Bazar in Pabna on Friday night.

The deceased is Redwanul Islam Rupam, 23, son of late Abdul Baten of Gopalpur village in Pabna district town. He was a final year BBA student of United International University in Dhaka.

Seriously injured Amit Hossain, 15, son of Manik Hossain of Pabna town is a Class X student of Pabna Collectorate Public School and College.

According to the family of the deceased, Rupam and Amit faced the fatal accident while they were on the way back from Ishwardi on their motorcycle at about 8:30pm on Friday.

Later, locals rescued them and took them to Pabna General Hospital where doctors declared Rupam dead.

Amit was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition was critical.

Ashish Kumar Sanyal, officer-in-charge of Pakshi Highway Police Station of Ishwardi said that the body was handed over to the family at night.

The covered van was seized but the driver escaped, he added.
