Live Correspondent: The vice chancellor of National University (NU) professor Md Mashiur Rahman urged all not to hurt the feelings of the students by passing bad comments.

In a press release on Friday, the NU vice-chancellor said, "Every member of the great National Parliament is dear to us. They are the representatives of the people in our society. So, they do not pass bad or ridiculous comments to the people. So the struggling NU students from middle-class, lower-class, hilly, and remote areas of Bangladesh, who support their parents financially and study by themselves, deserve respect from everybody.

The VC said these in an immediate response to the chief guest's speech at the annual occasion titled 'Picnic O Milonmela-2023' of teachers, officers, and employees of the NU at Rover Palli, Bahadurpur, Gazipur, on Friday (February 3) afternoon.

Barrister Shamim Patwari, Member of Parliament from Gaibandha-1 Constituency, made negative comments about the NU students on Thursday at the Jatiya Sangsad. The Vice-Chancellor of the University gave this call in response to that comment.

In the picnic held throughout the day, the treasurer of the National University, Professor Abdus Salam Howlader, the Dean (Acting) of Postgraduate Education, Training and Research Center, Professor Dr. Mohammad Bin Kashem, Dean of Curriculum Development and Evaluation Center (Acting) Professor Dr. Md. Moniruzzaman Shaheen, registrar Mullah Mahfuz Al-Hossain and heads of various departments of the university, teachers, officers, and employees were present.

A raffle draw was held at the picnic. Sports competitions and cultural events were held with the participation of teachers-officers-employees of the university. Apart from this, interesting cultural programs were performed by guest artists.
