Kings make winning start in Women’s Football League

Live Correspondent: The defending champions Bashundhara Kings made a winning start in the 5th Bashundhara Group Women’s Football League 2021-22 after beating Uttara Football Club Ltd by 2-0 goals in the opening match at the Bir Sherestha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Tuesday.

Captain Sabina Khatun and forward Krishna Rani Sarkar scored one each for the two-time champions in the 45+2nd and 77th minutes.

In the day’s other match, Ataur Rahman Bhuyan College Sporting Club beat Siraj Srity Sangsad SC by 4-0 goals at the same venue.

Aklima Khatun scored a brace in the 18th and 29th minutes while Nowson Jahan and Rupa added one each in the 68th and 88th minutes for the winners.

On Wednesday, FC Brahmanbaria will take on Farashgonj SC and Cumilla United Club will play against Dhaka Rangers FC, both at the same venue.
