Sports Live: Bangladesh will hope to beat visiting Seychelles in their second and final FIFA international friendly match at the Sylhet District Stadium today. The match will kick-off at 3:45pm and BTV will televise the match live from the venue.Hosts are leading the series after winning the first match when defender Tariq Kazi scored the match winner also his maiden international goal at the same venue on Saturday.

In the match, Nigerian-born forward Eleta Kingsley set a milestone by becoming the country’s first naturalised footballer to make his international debut.

It was Bangladesh’s first win against Seychelles in their second meeting, as they earlier played out a 1-1 draw in their first meeting on November 10, 2021, in the four-nation Mahinda Rajapaksa Cup in Colombo.

‘Obviously, we are happy after winning the first match. But we have achieved half of the objective, now we are looking to achieve the whole objective by winning the second match,’ said Bangladesh’s Spanish coach Javier Cabrera during a press conference in Sylhet on Monday.

‘They [Seychelles] will come with everything tomorrow [Monday]. I don’t think they will go back home with nothing. So, this match is going to be tougher than the previous match. If they can do better, then we also can also do better,’ he added.

Captain Jamal Bhuiyan also echoed Cabrera and believed that the second tie would be more c challenging.

‘Seychelles have the same mind as us. They will also try to win the match. The second match would be challenging for us as Seychelles will be more offensive. But we want to show that we can do better than the first match,’ said Jamal.

Seychelles head coach Neville Both hailed Bangladesh but at the same time he said that they knew all the strengths and weakness of the home side.

‘Bangladesh are the technical team, but they also have weaknesses. We know that, so we have a plan to play more aggressively with the ball or without the ball. We are lower in ranking, we have long players but not experienced. But definitely we will score in the match,’ said Both.
