"ICT-based education to contribute enhancing quality"

Live Correspondent: Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar said educating students with digital education will create a new dimension in the education sector. "Our younger people is very talented...they will play a pivotal role in establishing Sonar Bangla as they make up 65 percent of the total population," he said.

Emphasizing the importance of incorporating digital content in national education curriculum, Jabbar called upon the IT professionals to come forward in imparting ICT-based education to students.

Jabbar made the call while speaking at a prize distribution ceremony among the winners of an essay competition organised by 'Science Technology and Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Foundation' at a city hotel last night, said a press release.

Vice Chancellor of BUET Prof Satya Prasad Majumder presided over the function while Vice Chancellors from different public and private universities, former Vice Chancellors, researchers and teachers of various public and private universities spoke on the occasion.

Speaking as the occasion, the BUET VC stressed the need for using technology as a tool for building Bangabandhu's Sonar Bangla. Later, Jabbar announced the names of the winners of the competition and distributed prizes among the winners.

The minister also inaugurated the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB)'s 'Digital Counting Professional Development (CPD)' Platform in Dhaka.
