Live Correspondent: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) closed RAJUK Commercial Complex in the capital’s Uttara on Sunday for ignoring health guidelines in the shopping mall.

The incident took place when DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam made a sudden visit to monitor compliance of health guidelines at the market.
While talking to reporters, Atiqul said, “In the entry and exit points of the market, there were no protective measures. There were no hand-washing points and thermal scanners in the entry point.”

Atiqul further said that the authorities opened the market, but there was no arrangement to ensure health protocol. He said they did not find any banner reading “No Mask No Service.”

“We won’t spare any law violators if health rules are not maintained properly. We will allow the authorities to open the market if they stick to the instruction of the government properly,” Atiqul added.
