Prof Shahidur Rashid new VC of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University

 

 

Live Correspondent: The government on Tuesday appointed Dr Md Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan, a professor of Genetics and Plant Breeding Department of the university, as vice-chancellor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University for the next four years.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Education Ministry issued a gazette notification signed by its Senior Assistant Secretary Nilima Afroz in this regard on Tuesday.

The appointment has been made as per the approval of President and Chancellor of the University; the notification said adding that it will come into effect immediately.

New VC Dr Md Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan said, “I will work to maintain a propitious environment for education and research at the university and I will also try to enhance image of the university.”

He sought the cooperation of all to protect the rights of students, teachers, officers and employees and to make the overall activities of the university, including academic and administrative, more dynamic.
