Road accident kills Brac varsity student

Live Correspondent: A university student was killed in a road accident in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area this noon.  

The deceased was identified as Fahmida Haque Labonno, 21, a third year student at Brac University’s Computer Science and Engineering department. 

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station Sub Inspector Nurul Islam confirmed the matter.

Fahmida was riding a bike of a ride-sharing service when another vehicle hit the motorcycle from behind and ran away, said Biplob Kumar Sarakar, deputy commissioner (DC) of Tejgaon Division, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The injured was declared dead after she was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, the DC also said.
