Baitul Mukarram's Khatib Prof Salahuddin passes away

 

Live Correspondent: Professor Maulana Muhammad Salahuddin, khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, died of age-old complications in a city hospital on Thursday.

He left behind his wife, one son, three daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at the Baitul Mukarram mosque after Jummah prayers on Friday.The second and third namaz-e-janaza will be held in Jigatola and Mirpur respectively.

Salahuddin will be laid to eternal rest in Mipur beside the grave of his pir as per the wish of the deceased.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the death of the religious leader.

She also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and extended her deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

He was appointed as the khatib of the mosque in January 2009. He was the 44th principal of Madrasah-i-A'liah Dhaka.

alahuddin also served as the Imam of Gausul Azam Mosque in Mohakhali .
