Over 500 homes destroyed as fire rips through Ukhiya Rohingya camp

 

Cox’s Bazar Live: - A massive fire at Balukhali Rohingya camp No-11 in Palongkhali union of Ukhia upazila gutted over 500 houses on Sunday afternoon, said officials.

Cox's Bazar Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Md Samsuddoha said the fire originated in a house of the camp around 3:00 pm and soon engulfed the adjacent houses.

On information, ten units of fire service and local people are working to bring the blaze under control, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters

No injuries or casualties have been reported yet.
