Live Correspondent: The Fire Service and Civil Defence will conduct surveys in different markets in the capital, including Gausia Market and Rajdhani Super Market at Tikatuli, said Brigadier General Md Main Uddin, director general of Fire Service and Civil Defense on Wednesday.

He said they think those markets may be vulnerable to fire.  They will initiate a survey from tomorrow (Thursday) in different markets to check whether the markets have enough exit and entry points following Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) and fire extinguishing systems, he said while talking to reporters at the main gate of the Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters.

The DG said the survey will be conducted with the owners of the markets and they will be informed about the next course of action.

Replying to a query, the DG said a total of 12 firefighting units are still working at Bangabazar site to fully douse the flame inside Bangabazar Market.
