11 psychology teachers get ‘Excellence Awards-2021’

 

Live Correspondent: A total of 11 teachers of the Psychology department of different public universities and colleges received ‘Excellence Awards-2021’ for their outstanding performances in research and teaching of Psychology.

Bangladesh School Psychology Society (BSPS) on Wednesday announced the names of the 11 winners at a virtual ceremony held with the organization President Prof Muhammad Kamal Uddin in the chair.

BSPS introduced the “Excellence Awards-2021” for the first time and the organization has evaluated teachers’ performance in eight different aspects with rigorous statistical analysis to select the 11 award winners.

The 11 award winners teachers are Prof Muhammad Kamal Uddin of Dhaka University, Prof Asoke Kumar Saha and Prof Kazi Saifuddin of Jagannath University, Md Nurul Islam of Chittagong University, Samsad Afrin Himi of Jagannath University, Md Nur-E-Alam Siddique of Rajshahi University, Nitai Kumar Saha of Rajshahi College, Sanjida Khan of Jagannath University, Oli Ahmed of Chittagong University, Jakia Rahman of Dhaka University, SM Rumana Parvin of Begum Badrunnesa Govt Girl College.

When asked, Prof Asoke Kumar Saha thanked the BSPS for introducing the excellence award for psychology teachers mentioning that there is a practice of giving such awards in developed countries including America, evaluating the performance of teachers.

“I hope the award-giving initiative of the BSPS will continue to encourage the psychology teachers in the country,” said Prof Saha

At the virtual ceremony, National University (NU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Mashiur Rahman, Chairman of Policy Research Center Bangladesh Prof Dr. Akbar Uddin Ahmed and Prof Dr. Abdul Khalek, psychologists Prof Dr. Muhammad Rawshan Ali and Prof Dr. Hamida Aktar also participated.
