51-year-old convict dies at DMCH

 

Live Correspondent: A 51-year-old convict died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Friday morning, police said.

Md Iqbal, an inmate of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj, was rushed to the emergency department of the DMCH after he fell sick in the prison early morning.

Details about the convict could not immediately be known, Md Bachhu Miah, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said. "Prison guard Md Shakil Khan brought him to the hospital."

Iqbal was declared dead around 9am, he added. "The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy and will be handed over to Iqbal's family after the completion of legal procedures," Bachhu said.
