Live Correspondent: Criticizing the government’s decision to increase the fuel prices, Jatiya Party chairman GM Quader has said the inhuman behavior of the government has been revealed by increasing the fuel price.
The government raised the fuel price amid Ukraine war after Covid pandemic, and at a time when people’s lives are in crisis due to price hike of essentials, said GM Quader in a statement on Saturday.
Besides, transport fare’s hike, it is being feared that another increase in the price of daily commodities due to the increase in fuel price, he added.
In the statement, Quader said, “Such increase in the fuel price oil will cause great disaster in public life. The decision to increase fuel prices by more than 51 percent is inhuman and unprecedented.”
It is proved that the government has no sympathy for the people of the country, said the JaPa chairman.
He expressed concerned that the increase of fuel would increase the cost of living.
GM Quader said, “Transportation cost will increase. The price of essentials will increase several times high. Besides, the cost of production of domestic products will increase, the price will also increase.”
He further said the price hike will also cause disaster in the export industry. “The country’s economy will move towards dire consequences.”
GM Quader urged the government to reconsider the anti-people decision to increase fuel prices.
