DU Live: Bangladesh Chhatra League President Al-Nahean Joy has said that protestors who took part in Saturday night’s demonstration on the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) campus are the activists of Chhatra Shibir.

BUET would be a shelter for militancy if there is no scope for student politics, he said.

The BCL president made the remarks at a human chain held at the foot of the anti-terrorism Raju Memorial Sculpture on the Dhaka University campus on Sunday. BCL Dhaka University unit arranged the program demanding to bring back of Bangabandhu’s fugitive killers from abroad.

About BUET students’ protest on the campus which was held on Saturday night, Joy said that incident is not the work of general students.

He urged general students not to join the movement instigated by Jamaat-Shibir.

Alleging that protestors of BUET are Jamaat-Shibir activists, the BCL president said, “The former leaders of this university (BUET) have worked for the country. But the ghosts of the Jamaat-Shibir misbehaved with the elder brothers of their own university. I don’t think they will bring anything good.”

Father of the Nation created this Bangladesh, said Joy adding that those who will do any heinous incident with him they must be book to justice.

The BCL president said, “Ziaur Rahman is the killer of Bangabandhu. His posthumous trial is the demand of time.”

DU Chhatra League President Sanjit Chandra Das and general secretary Saddam Hossain also spoke at this time.
