Live Correspondent: Golapbagh playground near Saidabad Bus Terminal in the capital was filled up by 9:00 pm on Saturday as hundreds of BNP leaders, workers and supporters thronged it from Friday afternoon after the authorities concerned accorded permission to the party.

Then the leaders, workers, and supporters of the party started gathering beside the road finding no place to sit. As a result, plying of vehicles on one side of the road was suspended.

The grand rally will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday at this playground. When the news spread, the party's leaders and workers from different parts of Dhaka city and adjoining areas started thronging the playground in the afternoon.

The playground is situated somewhat north of Saidabad Bus Terminal. It was found on Friday night that some central BNP leaders along with the workers sat on the ground at several points in the playground. They were chanting various slogans standing in the galleries there.

There are lampposts around the playground, but there are no bulbs in those lampposts. However, many lights were seen in the gallery. Standing in front of the gallery, BNP leaders Aman Ullah Aman and Nipun Roy Chowdhury were seen chanting slogans to inspire the party workers.

The party leaders and workers started thronging the Golapbagh ground soon after the BNP got permission for holding the rally.

People were seen coming to Golapbagh field with small processions from different parts of the city chanting anti-government slogans.

BNP on Friday finally got permission to hold the rally at Golapbagh ground tomorrow (Saturday) from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). The party’s Standing Committee member Dr. Khandker Mosharraf Hossain at a press conference at the BNP Chairperson’s political office at Gulshan said the party’s mass rally will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday at Golapbagh ground.
