Live Correspondent: Criticizing Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader’s remarks on BNP’s 27-point of Structural Reform of the State, BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has said Awami League wants to shift blame to others.

He said, “Awami League earned a bad name in the country. They destroyed all, including the judiciary and democratic structures. But now they are saying that the state was destroyed during BNP’s regime. People would not believe in their attempt to shift blames to others.”

The BNP standing committee member made the remarks while addressing a human chain programme held in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Tuesday.

Mohila Dal arranged the programme demanding the release of the party leaders and activists.

Earlier, on Monday, Obaidul Quader in a programme said “BNP-Jamaat destroyed the country but they are talking about its reform, which is ridiculous. After assuming power, Sheikh Hasina has reformed the ruined state.”

Awami League is reforming all things the country requires Quader said, questioning “how can those, who put the country at the edge of destruction, reform the country?

Khandaker Mosharraf alleged that the government arrested BNP men, attacked them and lodged cases with the aim to foil the party’s December 10 rally in Dhaka.

Mentioning that the government has failed to suppress BNP, Khandaker Mosharraf said, “BNP is like a phoenix bird. It becomes stronger, and support has increased. Despite various obstacles, BNP has completed all its divisional rallies peacefully.”

Dhaka North city unit BNP convener Amanullah Aman said, “No more elections like 2014 and 2018 would be held in the country. An election must be held under a neutral government.” Mohila Dal president Afroza Abbas presided over the programme.
