LDA to take part in BNP's anti-govt movement

 

Live Correspondent: Main opposition BNP has held a closed-door meeting with Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) amidst the ongoing movement to oust the government.

Addressing a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Tuesday, BNP vice-chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu said the meeting between the BNP and LDA was "fruitful."

"Our talks with the LDA leaders were fruitful. They have pledged to the nation that they will remain at the forefront in the anti-government street movements in the days ahead," he said.

Earlier, two members of the BNP liaison committee held talks with the LDA leaders.

Bulu further said the 27-point floated by BNP will be implemented together in the future. At the same time, a national government will be formed through the next parliamentary elections which will be held under a non-party government.

LDA coordinator Harun Chowdhury said BNP invited them and they were apprised of the 27-point of BNP. If the BNP's 27-point demands can be materialized, it would bring substantial benefits to the nation.

On behalf of BNP, the party's joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, LDA's Abul Kalam Azad, Dr. Shamsul Alam, Harun Al Rashid, and leaders of LDA's partners--Social Democratic Party, Samajtantrik Majdur Party, Bangladesher Sammyabadi Dal (ML) and Progotishil Ganatantrik Dal leaders took part in the talks.
