Gang rape in train: Two accused make confession

 

Live Correspondent: A teenage girl was allegedly gang raped inside a local train at Kamlapur Railway Station on Friday (October 7) night. Police arrested five accused for their alleged involvement in the gang rape after the victim filed a rape case at Kamlapur Railway Police Station on Saturday (October 8) morning.

The arrested were Suman, 21, Naim, 25, Nazmul, 25, Anwar, 20 and Roman alias Kalu, 22. However, the main accused Imran has been absconding.

Two among the arrested five accused made confessional statements to a court in Dhaka after they were produced before it on Saturday.

Kamlapur Railway Police Station's OC Ferdous Ahmed Biswas said the victim's girl hails from the Netrakona district. Being angry with her parents, she got on board the Haor Express train on Friday (October 7) afternoon and got down at Kamlapur Railway Station in Dhaka. While sitting on 4/5 platforms, she talked with one youth named Imran who sells bottled water at the station.

As the night grew, Imran came and asked the girl to sleep inside Turag Community local train kept on Platform No. 1. After the girl entered the compartment, Imran closed the door of one side of the compartment. Then he along with his five companions entered the compartment through another side of the train and raped the girl one after another.

Police said five accused were arrested from the station area with the help of the girl at night. They work as cleaners at Kamlapur Railway Station and are employees of a private company.

However, mastermind Imran is still absconding. Railway Police Station's OC Ferdous Ahmed Biswas said being the plaintiff the rape victim girl filed a rape case. Five accused have been arrested so far in the case.
