BUET Live: A Dhaka court on Tuesday ordered to send arrested Amatullah Bushra in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash murder, to jail rejecting her bail petition in a case filed with Rampura Police Station.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ataullah passed the order after the investigation officer (IO) and DB Inspector Md Mojibur Rahman produced her before the court upon completion of her five-day remand.

The investigation officer said: "We pleaded to the judge to keep her detained in jail until the investigation is completed for proper investigation of the case. The judge gave the order in view of the application."

The defense counsel had filed a bail petition mentioning that Bushra was not involved with the offense. After hearing both sides, the court rejected Bushra's bail prayer and sent her to jail.

Earlier on November 10, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan placed Bushra on a five-day police remand.

Earlier, Fardin's father Noor Uddin Rana filed a case with Rampura Police Station against Bushra and some unidentified persons.

Following the filing of the case, police arrested Bushra from her house at Dhaka's Banasree area in the morning, Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rampura Police Station, said.

Bushra is a third-year student at East West University. The 24-year-old Fardin was a third-year student of BUET's Civil Engineering Department. He was also the joint secretary of BUET Debating Club. He lived with his family at Konapara in Demra.

He was the eldest of three brothers. His friend Bushra studies at the East-West University of Dhaka. She also hails from Banasree in Rampura. She got acquainted with Fardin at a debating competition about five years ago, said Fardin's father Kazi Noor Uddin Rana.

Following the missing on November 4, Fardin's body was recovered from the river Shitalakhya in Narayanganj in the afternoon of November 7. After his postmortem at Narayanganj General Hospital, the forensic expert said on Tuesday that Fardin was murdered.

Before he went on missing, Fardin was seen with Bushra in the Rampura area. Because of it, Fardin's father lodged a general diary with Rampura Police Station. Two days after the recovery of the son's body, Fardin's father filed a murder case with Rampura Police Station where he made Bushra the prime accused. Besides, several other unidentified persons made the accused in the case.
