COVID-19 claims 16 more, infects 316 in BD

Live Correspondent: Bangladesh logged an additional 16 deaths and 316 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Monday, counting the death toll to 8,221 and infections to 538,378.

Among the deceased, 12 were male and four female patients. A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 13,762 specimens were tested in the timeline at 206 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 37,62,774 specimens as of February 8.   

A total of 559 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 483,931.

Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
