Diplomats receive Covid-19 vaccines in Dhaka

Diplomatic Correspondent:  More than 30 diplomats of different countries and their family members received Covid-19 vaccine at Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute & Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Diplomats of countries of Asia and Europe were present at Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute & Hospital in Dhaka, said State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam also received Covid-19 vaccine.“There are about 1200 diplomats in the country. All of them will get vaccine in phases. Besides, those working in international organisations stationed in Bangladesh will also get vaccine from this institute.
In this regard, we have sought their names,” said Shahriar Alam. He also assured foreign ministry’s all-out cooperation regarding Covid-19 vaccination.

The foreign ministry formally started vaccination which will be held twice or thrice a week, he added. He came up with the information while talking to journalists. 

Diplomats who received Covid-19 vaccine include Archbishop George Kocherry, Ambassador of Holy See - Vatican,  Rensje Teerink, Ambassador and Head of Delegation of EU, Peter Fahrenholtz, Ambassador of Germany, Vikram Kumar Doraiswami, High Commissioner of India, Bishwadip Dey,

Deputy High Commissioner of India, Mustafa Osman Turan, Ambassador of Turkey, Frank Gruetzmacher-Tecourt, Deputy of France, Jean-Marin SCHUH, Ambassador of France, Marie-Caroline Schuh-Senlis, wife of the Ambassador of France, Jeremy Bruer, High Commissioner of Australia, Nardia Simpson,

Deputy High Commissioner of Australia, Sanuki Jayarajah, First Secretary and Consul of Australia, Heuberger Andreas, diplomat of EU, wife of Heuberger Andreas, Jeremy Opritesco, Deputy Head of Mission of EU, and Aleena Opritesco, wife of Jeremy.

Besides, Thomas Aris of EU, Hauk Birgit of EU, Solange Zdunek and Jerzy Zdunek of French Embassy and Enrico Nunziata, Ambassador of Italy, took the vaccine.
