Bangladesh reports highest ever 83 deaths in a day

Live Correspondent: Bangladesh logged the highest 83 deaths in a single day in the past 24 hours on Monday and 7,201 infections from COVID-19.

With this, the death toll hits 9,822 and infections to 691,957. The Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 update.

Among the deceased, 54 were male 29 were female patients. Some 34,968 specimens were tested in the timeline at 255 labs across the country. Bangladesh had tested a total of 50,37,833 specimens as of April 12.   

A total of 4,523 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 581,113.

Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18, 2020.
